Frequently asked questions.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes, guests must be at least 14 years old to paddle in a single kayak on their own, but we may be able to work with you if you have younger kiddos. Give us a call 727-354-3770. Please note, we only offer single kayaks (no tandems) so every guest must be able to paddle unless we have worked out an option for you prior booking. We do have one smaller (towable) child’s kayak for ages 5-13.

Is there a weight limit?

We use Perception Pescador kayaks which have a manufacturers maximum weight limit of 375 lbs.

What if I don’t know which tour to book?

Give us a call! We love being able to cater towards your specific interests so contact us and we will be sure to get you in for the best tour for you. 727-354-3770

What should I bring?

The two musts are water and sunscreen. Other than that, you bring what you want! A cooler, mask and snorkel, camera gear… just expect everything to get wet so pack accordingly (we do offer different size dry bags for you to use free of charge). We suggest leaving towels in your car if you want to have something dry to sit on after.

What do you provide?

We provide the kayaks, paddles, life jackets, dry bags and the best tour guide you’ll ever meet! Shell bags are available for $3. For the sandbar parties, we provide water/beach games, and each guest is given a free drink coozie to keep.

What should I wear?

Whatever you want but expect to get wet. Not only will you get a little wet (and probably sweaty!) while paddling, most of our tours include a spot for swimming if you wish to do so. You will have to walk in water to get in and out of the kayaks so we definitely recommend shoes that you can get wet.

Where do we meet?

Each tour has different meeting locations, so it is very important to follow the instructions given to you on your confirmation email. If anything changes about the meeting time or location, we will call/text you to give you updated directions.

Is kayaking difficult?

Look, kayaking is a physical activity. You have to be able to get in and out of a kayak and you have to be able to paddle. We will show you different techniques to make it easier for you and cause you less exhaustion. We also pick routes based on conditions to make it the easiest and most enjoyable experience possible. None of us want to go home feeling beat up!

What if my tour was cancelled?

If winds and/or precipitation pose a threat to the experience, we will cancel the tour and issue a full refund.

What if I booked a tour but can no longer come?

Full refunds will be issued to those that have contacted us to cancel 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour. For cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled tour, contact us and we will see what we can do to accommodate you, but fees may apply. Same day cancellations and no shows pay the full amount of the tour.
